QUESTION Revisiting Mequon Brutality Death

marco, 23.09.2004 11:16

When will the Mequon police custody death case become public record? I'd appreciate reading if Klobukowski's own testimony contributed to the death being formally declared an "accident." He's lied in a court of law before. One must ask if he'd lie again.

Did Officer Klobukowski testify in his own case? Did he or his attorneys go privately into Judges' chambers or anything? What were his exact words. I'd like to see that as part of the public record ASAP. Here's how he's testified in other cases before:

1 On direct examination, Klobukowski testified that he asked to search McCann's vehicle once. However, on cross- examination he stated that he had asked to search McCann's vehicle more than once but could not recall the number of times.

An ethical question
23.09.2004 - 14:15
So the inquest has cleared him--but what does that really mean? Should someone be let off the hook because the death was accidental? We put our lives in the hands of police officers, we give them a certain authority. But an accident doesn't make them less guilty of killing someone than anyone else is. This isn't justice--this is legalized murder, justified by incompetance.

On jsonline.com if you click on one of the more recent articles about this case in the Ozaukee section there is approximately 30 minutes of police audio tapes. Listen closely and you will notice that they ran Matt and responded no "99" which I can only assume meant he had no warrants. A short while later another cop chimed in to report he had recently been released from jail...NEVER DID YOU HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT FINDING A CRACK PIPE!!! What right did they have to even take him into custody.
I'm sorry that so few "public" showed up at the inquest. I found it enlightening that they failed to mention that there was no crime committed that night. It may have given them some idea why Matt was so upset.
Try not to cry as you listen to this set up.
