"Liberals, Can We Riot Yet?" banner in Milwaukee
Corran Horn, 12.12.2005 12:24
I saw this banner near the Capital street bridge, facing the Milwaukee suburb of Shorewood. I think it asks a very legitimate question, as the liberal tactics for opposing war and militarism have uniquely failed.
shoop-a-loop!

why are we resorting to vandalism????
I am just PO'ed, pissed off, if you don't mind my language. I can't believe someone would do this here of all places, maybe harlem of in some terrorist country. I almost swerved off the road when my grandma judy called me crying on the phone about how someone had taken the time to drop another one of these vicious attacks on america we like to politely call vandalism. Let's stop tippy toeing here and get to business. We all know it's terrorism don't we? Call the FBI, this shit's gross.

Yeah, I'll agree with that! Those fucking vandals really piss me off too! They bring disgrace to our great American communities! It just shows how chicken-shit they are! But if they get caught, they're all about first amendment. IT IS VANDALISM YOU KNUCKLEHEADS!!! LONG LIVE GOD, GUNS & HARLEY DAVIDSON!!!

This is neither vandalism nor an "attack on America." And as long as you're calling things out as terrorism, I'm pointing at you. Yes you, the one who self-admittedly almost lost control of a motor vehicle because of a cell phone. I'm far more afraid of you and your ilk than any of your so called "terrorists."

i'm going to take this seriously

yes, you may riot.
This might just be the perfect time to riot. We've exasted all our other options. Every senator has been emailed, petitioned, and called on various action days. Every vigil has been vigiled. Every dead American soldier has been cried for. Boycotts have been enacted with comfortable and convienient vigor. We've waited patiently for the an unjust world to decide to be just if only for the fact that we sit and wait.
Don't forget to make sure your riot is totally ineffectual and doesn't damage any property, doesn't disobey and police officers, and doesn't alienate anyone who might also want to vote for the next john kerry or work on any of our future campaings that go off into infinity, where the means have become the end goal.
