We then marched to the main rally to have a militant anti-fascist prescence.

After an incident involving a nazi in the crown the police arrest 4 ARAers.

These pictures are from the first hour at the Capitol Building in Madison. After the arrests the photographer went to do prison support but I'm sure there will be more pictures soon.

march 28.08.2006 - 14:19 Creating a spectacle in the protest area was an incredibly effective thing to do, I think. The Nazis were drowned out anyway, and personally, I didn't hear a single word they said the whole time, even when I tried to listen. But by creating a spectacle, we didn't just draw attention from the Nazis to ourselves, we drew positive and participatory attention, eliciting applause from a huge number of the bystanders, some of whom joined us in our march. It is my impression that the size of the bloc increased dramatically when we started marching. On Madison IndyMedia, someone posted a Nazi write-up of the day with horrible Nazi photography. Anyway, the author claimed that they really "stuck it to the ARA" when they HID behind police lines in busses and let the police forcefully break up the crowd so the Nazis could drive away. Just in case this doesn't go without saying... hiding behind police out of fear for your own safety is not...NOT "sticking it to" anybody.
