Monday 18 February at 6 pm at Broad Vocabulary: Come hear punk rock mom Jessica Mills read from her new book, My Mother Wears Combat Boots. This down-to-earth, funny, wise parenting guide is for activist parents who want to raise great kids without losing their edge.

Mills' right-on book is a funny, honest parenting guide for punk rock mommies and daddies who want to raise their children to be healthy and free, while maintaining an active life of art, activism, and possibly even sanity. Whether it's advice on making good choices about diapers and breastfeeding or about taking your toddler to her first women's rights march, Mills tells it like it is.

This will be a great event for activist parents -- new and, um, acclimated -- to talk about the ups and downs of being a parent and a committed, involved human being at the same time.
