Earth First! action following Organizer's Conference

Following a 4-day long Conference,Everglades Earth First! blocked the main entrance to the WCEC site, a proposed massive 3800 MW gas-fired power plant that would emit 12 million tons of CO2 (a leading greenhouse gas) every year. The plant is under construction despite ongoing legal challenges to the plant’s needed permits and certification, which have been spearheaded by the local Palm Beach County Environmental Coalition. It is located 1,000 feet from the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and will effect the Everglades ecosystem.

I attended the Earth First! Winter O.C, which allowed space for networking and raising awareness about future solidarity projects within N. America. some projects that cae up were I-69 in Indiana , Plumb Creek developent in Maine, Republican National convention, (more importantly) Democrat National convention in denver, No 2010 Olypics in Vancouver lead by Indigenous, Mountain Justice in Apalacia, Solidarity with Mexican farmers...
After well thought out workshops and skillshares, we readied ourselves to take action against the new CO2 powerplant currently in construction. We linked arms and blocked miles of trucks filled with hazardous building Materials meant for more development + the powerplant. Many truck drivers supported us even though our action cost them $150 of labour. We stood our groud for 5 hours. The Arrestables had chained their arms to PVC pipes in a circle, and lay in the middle of the road leading to the powerplant. Police used torture tactics to try and force the Jail Solidarity folks off of the chained ones. However, they only videotaped the cops feeding water to the dehydrating folks. Once the Firemen arrived, they broke open the human baracade and violently arrested my friends.
2 people were taken to the hospital for dehydration.
all together, 27 PEOPLE were arrested, and 23 are still in captivity with 10,000 over their heads! the farther away one resides, the more bail $ they must pay. PLEASE DONATE and read more here:
